Learning, Memory and Cognition





Cognition can describe many functions related to learning, memory, and executive function. Rodent protocols commonly involve specialized mazes or operant chambers designed to engage a targeted cognitive process or subset of processes. Studies may focus on a type of learning/memory, like spatial, associative, recognition or short vs long term memory. Other experimental paradigms consider functions such as mental flexibility, impulse control, motivation, and attention.
