Bias Flow Generators
DSI has expanded its portfolio of
respiratory products with yet another reliable and economical offering for researchers. The Bias Flow Generator is one of many respiratory products that DSI provides, and it allows researchers to connect either 2 or 4 test subjects/chambers.
The Bias Flow Generator is intended for use with restrained and unrestrained whole body plethysmograph chambers or a large animal helmeted plethysmograph. It prevents the buildup of carbon dioxide in these respiratory apparatuses by providing a source of fresh air and helps maintain temperature and humidity levels within the chambers. It prevents condensation buildup that could affect a pneumotach in long duration studies.
The Bias Flow Generator can also be used as a source of calibration by providing a constant measurable air flow that moves through the chamber.
Small Animal Bias Flow Generator
The Small Animal Bias Flow Generators contain a pump, a vacuum reservoir, a pressure reservoir, and 4 flow ports. The unit can be used to pull air out of a chamber (vacuum), or push air into a chamber (pressure). There are two versions of the Small Animal Bias Flow Generator: 1.0 L/Min flow rate or 2.5 L/Min flow rate.
Features:
- Vacuum and Pressure capabilities
- 4 ports
- Interchangeable manifolds for 1.0 and 2.5 L/M applications
- User settable voltage selection (115 or 230VAC)
Additional manifolds can be purchased and interchanged to convert from one flow rate to another. This effectively allows you to have two bias flow generator flow rates for the same price as one single unit.
Large Animal Bias Flow Generator
The Large Animal Bias Flow Generator contains a pump, a vacuum reservoir, and two flow control meters. There is one version of the Large Animal Bias Flow Generator: 0-10 L/Min adjustable flow rate.
Features:
- Vacuum flow direction
- 2 ports
- Variable flow rate (0-10 L/M)
- User settable voltage selection (115 or 230VAC)
