DSI Ambient Pressure Reference (APR-2)

The Ambient Pressure Reference Monitor (APR-2) is a special type of barometer that measures atmospheric pressure providing dynamic corrections via a digital signal to the computer. An APR-2 is required when measuring pressure via pressure transmitters in order to compensate for the absolute (relative to a vacuum) measurements taken by the transmitters. All local environmental pressure fluctuations and changes in ambient barometric pressure are automatically corrected against measurements obtained by the Ponemah system. Thus, the APR-2 is a necessary component of each DSI telemetry system where accurate pressure measurements are required.

The APR-2 is the successor to DSI's APR-1 and now offers direct router and switch connectivity without use of an E2S-1.
