DSI PhysioTel® Receivers

Small Animal Receivers
Large Animal Receivers

A vital component of the complete DSI System is the PhysioTel® Receiver. Just as implantable transmitters are available based on animal size, DSI offers receivers for any size animal. DSI transmitters are designed to monitor and collect data from conscious, freely moving laboratory animals. Transmitters broadcast digitized data via radio frequency signals to PhysioTel® Receivers. The receiver converts the telemetry information to a form readily accessible by DSI’s Dataquest A.R.T.™.

PhysioTel® Receivers provide reliable reception of data transmitted via digital telemetry for a wide variety of species, animal sizes, and housing types. Models are available to monitor animals housed in plastic or metal caging as well as special experimental settings using running wheels, treadmills, runs, pens, and mazes.

Two models are currently available. The RPC-1 is most often used for monitoring animals housed in plastic cages that can be placed on top of the receiver. When monitoring animals housed in metal cages, the RMC-1 model is typically used.

Both the RPC-1 and the RMC-1 receivers are compatible with single channel TA Series implantable transmitters and MultiPlus TL Series implantable transmitters.

Digital data corresponding to the parameters being studied, such as arterial pressure, venous pressure, left ventricular pressure, intra-ocular pressure, bladder pressure, kidney pressure, ECG, EMG, EEG, EOG, temperature, activity, as well as other parameters, is forwarded to Dataquest A.R.T.™.
